The primary objective of our group is to ensure Buile Hill Park Mansion and surrounding buildings are renovated and brought back into public use. We aim to achieve this by working with Salford City Council (and any other interested agencies), in order to raise sufficient funding to realise this goal. Ultimately, once the Mansion is renovated, we wish to help create a community resource, which will not only be self-financing, but will benefit the citizens of Salford and its future generations.
We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mayor which governs the monthly meetings we hold with Council members, discussing the way forward for the Mansion and surrounding area. We are very grateful to the council and the Mayor for working with us and showing a real commitment to Mansion renovation.

Wendy is also our horticultural lead because of her keen interest in wildlife and conservation (you may bump into her in the park, walking her dog, picking up litter or maybe doing some gardening).
She loves the park and wants to see it retain its beautiful trees as well as adding more plants for our bees.
She would love to see the Mansion and surrounding area restored sympathetically with nature so we can all enjoy this beautiful building once again.

She lives close to the park and visits regularly with her children as they love being outdoors and exploring. The first time she saw the Mansion she knew she wanted to help restore it and make it available for all local children and the community to visit.

Michelle says 'Born and raised in the Langworthy area, as a child growing up in the urban, terraced streets of Salford, Buile Hill park was one of the only green spaces available to me. Naturally, as I got older I didn't appreciate the benefit of the park and just how special the memories of it were to me. It was only when I had children of my own, that I wished I had that green haven to share with them and for them to create those wonderful memories of their own.
When I heard of the Buile Hill Mansion Association and their determination to bring both the Mansion and the wider park back to a thriving community hub, I was not only excited but inspired. The more I got involved, the greater my desire to become a part of them and the movement to restore the park back to the wonderful space I remembered as a child. And, more importantly, to see that the park itself remains a jewel in the Salford community.
